ABOUT OUR PERFUMER
Tom has been captivated by fragrance for as long as he can remember. His earliest memories are tied to scent, lilac bushes in his childhood yard, freshly cut grass, the sweet almond note of Play-Doh. This deep connection to the evocative power of scent led him to pursue perfumery as his professional career.
Tom was one of twelve applicants worldwide selected to attend the prestigious Grasse Institute of Perfumery in France, where he trained under some of the world’s most acclaimed perfumers and honed his technical skill-set and innovative style.
Over the last decade, Tom has made a distinct impact on the fragrance industry as both a perfumer and entrepreneur. His first company, Coal and Canary Candle Company, grew from a hobby in his kitchen into a multimillion-dollar brand, featured in Forbes and gifted to celebrities at the Academy Awards and Grammy Awards.
After selling the company in 2019, Tom worked as a perfumer and studio manager at the Experimental Perfume Club in London, teaching perfumery and creating an online fragrance course that has been sold in over 20 countries worldwide. Since then, he has led over 2,000 bespoke workshops, developed fragrances for global brands, and created bespoke scents for celebrity clients.
Tom’s journey blends creativity, technical expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit, making him a unique voice in modern perfumery and the visionary behind the Piper & Perro Atelier and the Piper & Perro fragrance brand.

What is the Piper & Perro Atelier?
The Atelier is a luxury fragrance experience where guests step into the role of perfumer. Through workshops, pop-ups, and activations, participants explore curated fragrance blends and create a signature perfume that is uniquely their own.
What kinds of experiences do you offer?
We currently offer:
- At-Home Bespoke Perfume Sessions (group workshops in your home)
- Scent & Sip (a private perfume + natural wine/champagne date night for two)
- Mobile Perfume Atelier (a walk-up perfume bar for events like weddings, galas, and corporate functions)
- Atelier Pop-Ups (in-store or hotel activations billed hourly)

How many people can participate in an At-Home Session?
Our At-Home Bespoke Workshops require a minimum of 4 guests and can accommodate groups of up to 8 comfortably. If you have more than eight guests, please reach out to tom@piperandperro.com for booking!
Do guests get to keep their fragrance?
Yes! Every participant leaves with their bespoke fragrance (bottle size varies by service) and the formula so it can be recreated again.
Are the fragrances natural?
We use a mix of natural essential oils and high-quality perfumery molecules to ensure safe, wearable, and luxurious blends. Our palettes are designed to be both creative and skin-friendly, following all professional perfumery regulations
WHAT CITIES DO YOU OFFER THE ATELIER?
The Atelier is based in both Winnipeg and Toronto, but we are open to popping up anywhere! If you are outside of these locations and would like to host an event, just let us know!
Can you customize the experience for special events (weddings, corporate, etc.)?
Absolutely. The Mobile Perfume Atelier can be branded, styled, and customized to suit your event theme. Fragrance palettes can also be tailored for seasonal or brand-specific storytelling.
What is White Label Bespoke Development?
This is a service for brands looking to launch their own signature scent. We offer packages ranging from fragrance-only creation to full turnkey development (formula, packaging, production, and manufacturing).
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes, digital and physical gift cards (sent by post) are available for our At-Home Sessions.
